Throughout the pandemic, we have been working harder than ever to live our promise to you, to make sure we can get you everything you need to support your work, safely and sustainably.

In late March 2020, we launched the Reclaimed Earth Colors set. We appreciate your support and feedback. And we’re glad that so many of you love them! We continue to donate 20% of all sales of the Reclaimed Earth Colors to support this important work to get pigments out of rivers and where they belong…on your palette.

Equality Orange is rooted in the same promise. To be kind to you, the people here, and the planet we share.

We’ve been walking our promise and taking care of our families. So, yes, we’ve been a bit tired and frayed at times. And then came George Floyd’s story. A vile and tragic reminder of how very far we have to go for equality for all. At home and throughout the world.

As a company and as a team, we take action and we do what we do: make color. And we have. For us, this is the color that we want to put out into the world right now. And we will use it to make a difference.

What is the color like for painting?

In color and texture, Equality Orange fits between our Radiant Yellow and Radiant Red. If you’ve ever wished for a Radiant Orange, this is it. Equality Orange is also useful for portrait painters in mixtures with black, white, or burnt umber, to name a few. Emotionally, it carries with it warmth, love, and our hope and commitment to equality for all.

100% of what you spend on this paint will be invested in non-profit organizations that support equality for all. Initially, we will split funds equally between the American Civil Liberties Union and Amnesty International. As we learn and listen to you, we may add another national or international non-profit or two that share the mission, and that have proven they can make the best use of our shared investment.

Equality Orange is only available at the Gamblin Factory Store and it comes in pairs, Nothing this important and this hard can be done alone. So share a tube, a story, and your own hope and commitment with a friend. Let’s do our best, do it together, and learn along the way.
