The warmest and lightest of our Useful greens. Canopy Green is the color of the warmest areas of a tropical palm tree. In color space, it is located where green and yellow come together. Using the Munsell color system, we can identify the color space corridor where Canopy Green resides as the wedge between 10Y and 2.5GY.
Using Cadmium Yellow Light as our base, we add Ultramarine Blue to generate a bright, vibrant green with the right texture and tint strength. For the landscape painter, this pigment pairing is a decent starting point for mixed greens, yet lacking some warmth. We add India Yellow to mix to nudge the mixture warmer and bring it closer to the glowing highlights seen in sunlit foliage.
